What you need
A top-up adds credit to a prepaid line: calls, texts, mobile data or a bundle with no contract. You only need three things:
- the number of the line to top up;
- its network and country (a UK voucher only works on a UK line of the same network);
- the amount, or the bundle, you want to add.
The voucher code, sometimes called a PIN, holds that amount. It can be used once.
Buying a top-up online
On Kadokey, choose the network, the country and the amount, then pay: the voucher code is shown on screen and sent by e-mail as soon as the payment is confirmed. No trip to a shop.
You can also top up a relative's or friend's phone wherever they are: send them the code by e-mail or message and they redeem it on their own number.
Available top-ups include Lycamobile and Lebara for the UK, Ireland, the US and many European countries.
Redeeming the code
Each network has its own way to redeem a voucher. The usual ones are:
- In the network's app or online account: sign in, choose Top up, then Voucher, and enter the code.
- From the phone: dial the voucher top-up code given by the network, followed by your code, or call the top-up number and follow the instructions.
The number to dial is always in the instructions that come with your code and on the network's website.
Credit, bundle or data
A top-up adds an amount to your line. Depending on the network, you use it as credit for calls and texts, or to buy a bundle: mobile data, unlimited calls or international minutes.
To add data, top up first, then choose a data bundle in the network's app or online account. Bundles, prices and how long credit stays valid are set by each network: check its website before you choose the amount.
If the top-up fails
- Check the network and country: a Lycamobile voucher does not work on Lebara, and a voucher from another country does not work on your line.
- Check the code: type it without spaces, or copy and paste it from your e-mail.
- Make sure it has not been used already, for example by the person you sent it to.
- Check that your line is still active: a prepaid line unused for a long time can be suspended by the network.
If it still fails, contact the network's customer service, or write to us with your order reference.
