How a Netflix gift card works
A Netflix gift card adds a balance to a Netflix account. Each month, Netflix takes the price of your plan from that balance instead of charging a bank card. When the balance runs out, Netflix asks for another payment method or a new gift card.
It is handy for watching Netflix without a bank card, for keeping a budget, or for giving someone a few months of series and films.
How long does a Netflix gift card last?
It depends on your plan and its price in your country. The calculation is simple: divide the card value by your monthly plan price.
For example, with a plan at 10 a month (an example, not a Netflix price), a card of 25 covers 2 full months, and the rest is used towards the next month together with another payment. A card of 50 covers 5 months.
Check your plan price on Netflix's Account page: it also shows the date until which your balance pays the membership.
Redeeming the card at netflix.com/redeem
- Go to netflix.com/redeem.
- Sign in to your Netflix account, or create one.
- Enter the gift card code and confirm.
The balance is added to your account and pays your membership each month. On an existing account, it is used before your usual payment method.
Choosing the right card
Netflix gift cards are sold for one country or region: choose the one that matches the country of your Netflix account. A card from another country cannot be added.
